Seraphim by RevolverWinds Seraphim by RevolverWinds
Excerpt from my 'Dictionnaire Monstrorum'; a bestiary comprised of over a hundred of my hereto unseen creature oriented art. The book will be published within the month, and I'll be uploading samples periodically until then.

The Seraphim have ascended the holy ladder to the highest ranked among God's compatriots. Ancient scripture indicates they've an ambiance of intense heat, and are often equated with dragons for their shape. However, medieval art uniformly contradicts this description by depicting the high choir angels as heads abutting bodies cloaked by enfolded wings. The old wisdom suggests that these angels lamp their figures out of mercy, as the sight of their radiant physique would blind any onlooker.

Oh- are many of these creatures featured within Middens/Gingiva? If so, I'd like to find out how I can get my hands on a copy. I don't just fangirl over your work on Middens/Gingiva/Moments of Silence, I enjoy your work heavily outside of the games you've created as well.

Though, since I've mentioned Middens/Gingiva, I've heard many people wonder if a bestiary existed for the games. Comments?

There is a limited pseudo-bestiary actually. Since it was completed prior to Middens it only contains a quarter of the total number of creatures. I've considered releasing it, but it would require some editing. Here's an excerpt: www.flickr.com/photos/84392843…

Ah, I see... that is very neat!

I have a question - how do you feel about people decrypting the RPGMaker VX files to access the graphics? Especially for things like bestiary purposes and analysis of your artwork, the sprites, the file names, etc.. How do you feel about actions like these? Do you discourage or encourage them, I guess?

It doesn't bother me. I mainly encrypt the files to avoid spoilers.

Ah, okay! A lot of the fandom is interested in the graphics behind the game (myself included) so we're interested in decrypting the files and sharing some of your artwork online (i.e. Tumblr and whatnot).

I don't mind how is the process of it all or anything like that, but you're damn good. Man, I fell in love with your project, Middens, and I hope you finish it soon :D

Awesome as always. I'm sorry, I'm not nearly articulate enough to appreciate every of your works with an eloquently worded comment, although you really deserve it. So, I say it like the little yokel I am: You make great collages!
Also, I'm looking forward to that book of yours.

A book you say? That's so great, I can't wait for it to come out! You must be very excited!

I was particularly pleased to see this piece in my inbox; individual interpretations of angels seems to be a slight trend among online artists right now and I find it very interesting to see different artists' take on a rather vaguely described concept. I like that yours has skeletal limbs mixed in with the wings. Who says angels aren't a bit creepy looking?
